Salamatu Partner: Bright Minds Africa Update

We renewed our sponsorship for both Farida and Hajara for the 2025-2026 school year at the Bright Minds Academy. We are proud of their progress last year.

Dear Salamatu Foundation,

We are pleased to let you know that Farida and Hajara have completed foundational class at Bright Minds Academy, preparing them to enter 6th grade this fall. This school year, Farida improved 2 reading grade levels to end the school year at a 2nd grade reading level. She says the highlight of the school year was participating in creative arts sessions. She also enjoyed riding a bicycle. She hopes to one day become a leader in her community by organizing learn-to-read sessions for children.

As for Hajara, she improved 3 reading grade levels to end the school year at a 2nd grade reading level. She says that the highlight of the school year was learning to read and write. She also enjoyed playing soccer. For her community service project this term she helped plant a school garden, cultivating vegetables. She hopes to become a leader in her community by encouraging reading culture. Below are photos of the girls with one of their teachers.
