Run for Salamatu
Many of you know about my run but here are a few details to put some wonderful closure on the event.
On October 30th I successfully completed the Marine Corps Marathon. I planned to run a 4:15. I ran across the finish line after running straight uphill the last 2 at 4:19. Even though I could swear they made the last 2 miles much longer than all the others I was very happy with myself and my run. I am looking forward to my next 26.2.
Between me or my family/friends I don't know who was more tired at the end of the day. I had an amazing cheering crowd including one sister, two brothers, 1 sister-in-law, 1 brother-in-law, 1 friend, David, the girls and 3 nieces & 1 nephew who did a fabulous job popping up all along the course while navigating the DC Metro all in one large group. It helped having them there. Thank you!!
Many of you helped support me financially for the marathon donating to the Salamatu Foundation. Thanks to you, your support helped to raise over $2,000 for the Salamatu Foundation.
Your generosity will help many children and teachers in Namibia.

Summer Party
Our 2011 Fundraising Party and Silent Auction was held on Saturday, August 20th at a new venue. It was hosted by George and Sue Tremblay at their gorgeous property in Charlestown, Rhode Island. A good time was had by all who attended and we plan on holding our event there again in 2012.

8th Annual Walk-a-Thon
Sunday, September 25th at 11:00am
Kingston, Rhode Island
It was a muggy summer-like day but we had a pleasant walk along the bike path. This was our last year to walk at this location. 2012 will find us walking at East beach in Charlestown, Rhode Island.
